What is GiftTrails?
It’s a gift-giving game disguised as an adventure. Clue cards and puzzles guide kids from one spot in your home to the next until they reach the big surprise at the end.
What Age is this for?
Best for ages 8–adult. Younger readers can team up with parents or siblings, and older kids love the challenge of harder puzzles.
How long does it take?
Setup is quick — usually about 30 minutes if you’re hiding an average of 8–10 clues. For bigger events, a Trail Master can plan days or even weeks in advance (see our SETUPS). Once the trail begins, expect about 60 minutes of gameplay as players race through riddles, puzzles, and challenges to reach the final surprise.
Where do we play?
Your entire home becomes the playground, with hundreds of hiding spots represented on the clue cards — perfect for apartments, houses, or anywhere in between. But the heart of the game is the kitchen table. That’s where the Trail Master sits back and enjoys the laughter, shouts, and excitement as kids race from clue to clue. Each clue is tucked into a sleeve (included with the game) so players return to the table before the next step is revealed. Word puzzles and challenges are solved right there too, keeping the family gathered while the adventure unfolds around them. Parents and grandparents don’t have to chase — just watch the fun happen.
What about the puzzles?
Word puzzles add a brainy twist to the action. You can play GiftTrails as a straight clue-card chase, or slip in a Challenge Card to bring players back to the kitchen table for a puzzle break. Each puzzle solution points to another location in your home, keeping the trail going. With 300 downloadable puzzles (packets of 50) to mix in with the 200 clue-card riddles, no two trails ever feel the same. Use them a little or a lot — the choice is yours.
